Effectiveness of fly ash in boron removal from Tuzla (Çanakkale) geothermal fluid

The heat accumulated in the inner parts of earth's crust is transmitted to fluid geothermal aquifer by means transportation. transported surface either wells or naturally. In this study, Tuzla field Çanakkale city was examined due its high boron content (10.3 mg L-1). It aimed remove from adsorption order prevent possible negative effects on environment. Fly ash obtained Çan thermal power plant. specific area fly 14.6 m2 g-1 and particle size between 1.45 186 µm. According ASTM C618 standard, classified as Class C. composed anhydrite, lime, hematite, cristobalite, quartz, calcite feldspar. Various parameters such initial pH, adsorbent dosage, contact time, temperature were studied experimentally for removal fluid. suitability pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order, intraparticle kinetic models experimental data examined. isotherm studies applied Langmuir, Freundlich Dubinin-Radushkevich models.
